Simple mode uses the confirmed June 2026 boundary. In-depth mode adds the recent 2024–2026 range, earlier years and fuller grade analysis.

1. Choose a boundary set
2. Choose the target grade
3. Who marked the components?

The self-marked option also calculates a cautious result after reducing entered marks by 10%. This is a planning allowance for uncertain marking.

4. Enter completed or estimated component marks

Leave a component empty when it is still to come. Enter 0 when it has been completed with a mark of zero.

What the answer means

The calculation adds all entered component marks and subtracts that total from the selected qualification boundary. Empty components supply the remaining available marks. The recent-range view repeats the calculation using June 2024, June 2025, June 2026.

If you choose Student / self-marked, the calculator also tests 90% of the marks you entered. That gives you a more cautious planning range when mark-scheme interpretation is uncertain; it isn't a measured error rate for you.
